The Irving Fire Department provides Fire, EMS, Rescue, and Hazardous Material protection on a 24-hour basis to the residents of Irving. We strive to minimize the dangers to life and property from the hazards that can arise each day in our city by fire safety education, fire prevention inspections, investigations, fire control operations, and continuous training in the fields of EMS, Hazardous Materials, and Rescue.
Free blood pressure checks are available at any Irving Fire Station.
The Vial of L.I.F.E.-Lifesaving Information For Emergencies-is a place for you to store important medical information that emergency medical personnel, such as firefighters, paramedics and hospital staff, need during a time of crisis.The Vial of L.I.F.E. Kit is offered free of charge to Irving residents age 60 or older as a public service from the Irving Fire Department. Kits are available at all Irving fire station locations or call 972.721.2651.
Free smoke alarms are available to citizens of Irving that cannot afford one. For an application call 972-721-3695 or get one online at the Irving Fire Department web site.
The Irving Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy is available for anyone that lives or works in the City of Irving to attend. You must be 18 years of age or older to attend. The Citizens Fire Academy is 11 weeks long and is presented twice a year, spring and fall. The Citizens Fire Academy does NOT certify you as a fire fighter however it will give you an upclose look at the fire fighter experience. Applications are available on line at the Irving Fire Department web site or call 972-721-3695 and we will mail an application to you.
